Ocean Salt or Desert Rose: Choosing Your Jacuzzi Package in Deira
The two jacuzzi packages at Ego European Spa cost the same and run the same 80 minutes. Here is how the salt and the rose finish differ, and which one to book.
Both jacuzzi packages at Ego European Spa are built the same way: sixty minutes of aroma massage first, then twenty minutes in a warm jacuzzi, AED 490 for the whole 80 minutes. The only decision you make is what goes into the water. The Ocean Salt Ritual uses mineral sea salt; the Desert Rose Bath uses rose. Guests ask us almost every day which one is “better”, and the honest answer is that they are two different endings to the same hour, and the right one depends on what you want the last twenty minutes to feel like.
This guide is written for the moment before you send the WhatsApp message.
What the two packages share
Everything up to the jacuzzi is identical. You arrive at Jannah Dubai Creek Hotel, near Deira Clock Tower, walk into the lobby and follow the spa signs. Reception confirms the package, asks which language you prefer for the consultation and shows you to a private, climate-controlled room. The consultation takes three to five minutes: pressure, sensitive areas, and the mood you want from the oils, because the aroma massage is matched to that answer rather than to a fixed blend.
The massage itself is a full sixty minutes, the same aroma massage sold on its own at AED 400 for the hour. Long, flowing strokes at light to medium pressure, warm oil, the full body from shoulders to feet. It is the treatment we recommend to first-time guests and the one most guests book for pure relaxation rather than for a specific muscle problem. If you want firmer work on the shoulders, say so at the consultation; the pressure adjusts within the aroma technique without turning it into deep tissue.
Only after the hour does the package split.
The Ocean Salt Ritual
The water is drawn with mineral sea salt. The sensation is clean and slightly mineral, closer to the sea than to a bath at home, and the finish reads as a rinse-and-reset after an hour of oil work. Guests who choose salt tend to describe the package afterwards in practical terms: “I feel washed”, “my skin feels tight in a good way”, “I could go straight to dinner”. On the printed menu the salt version sits first for a reason; it is the package we suggest when the visit is maintenance rather than an occasion, or when the guest is not sure they will enjoy a fragrant bath.
The salt does not change the massage. It changes the twenty minutes after it, and the way you feel walking out.
The Desert Rose Bath
The water is drawn with rose. It is softer, markedly more fragrant, and it lingers on the skin for a while after you dry off. Guests who choose rose almost always mention the scent first and describe the package as an experience rather than a treatment. It is the version people book for a birthday, an anniversary, a first visit they want to remember, or simply because they like rose and want the bath to feel like the reward at the end of the hour.
If you are sensitive to fragrance, or you are coming to the spa on the way to a meeting, salt is the safer choice; the rose stays with you.
Which one to book
A short decision list, based on what guests tell us at reception:
- You want to feel clean and reset, and go on with your evening. Ocean Salt Ritual.
- The visit is an occasion, or a gift. Desert Rose Bath.
- You are not sure you like fragrant baths. Ocean Salt Ritual; you can try rose next time.
- You already love rose in oils and creams. Desert Rose Bath, without hesitation.
- You are coming straight from the gym or a flight. Salt, for the mineral finish after a sweaty or dehydrating day.
Neither is the “premium” option. They cost the same, last the same, and share the same massage, so choose by the finish you want and nothing else. If you are still undecided when you write to us, say so; reception will ask one question, whether you want to smell of roses afterwards, and book accordingly.
What the 80 minutes look like end to end
- Consultation, a few minutes. Language, pressure, mood for the oil blend, anything to avoid.
- Aroma massage, 60 minutes. Full body in a private room, warm oil, the pace kept slow throughout.
- Jacuzzi, 20 minutes. Salt or rose, drawn while you finish the massage so you move from the table to the water without waiting.
- Recovery. Filtered water, a clean robe, unhurried time before you dress. The recovery is not counted against the 80 minutes.
Plan roughly two hours from the moment you enter the hotel lobby to the moment you leave, and do not book anything tight afterwards. The point of the last twenty minutes is that nothing is waiting for you.
What guests say afterwards
The comments we hear at reception fall into two groups that line up almost perfectly with the two packages. After the salt version: “I feel like I have been swimming”, “my skin feels tighter”, “I am ready for dinner”. After the rose version: “I can still smell it”, “that was the best part”, “I want to book this for my sister’s birthday”. Nobody has told us that one is better than the other; they tell us which one suits them, which is the point.
The one thing both groups say is that the twenty minutes felt longer than twenty minutes. That is not the water; it is the hour of aroma massage before it, which slows everything down enough that the bath feels unhurried even though it is short.
Timing your first package
For a first package, choose a weekday afternoon or early evening. The spa is calmest then, same-day requests are usually possible, and you are not competing with the Friday and Saturday evening rush for the jacuzzi slot. Give yourself two hours from the hotel lobby back to the hotel lobby and keep the rest of the evening light. If you are staying at a Deira hotel, the walk back is six to twelve minutes; if you drove, the hotel car park is free and the exit is on the same side as the lobby.
For a gift or an occasion, message a day or two ahead for an evening slot, say it is an occasion, and tell reception which package; the rose is the usual choice for those, but salt is not wrong.
Practical questions we get asked
Can I have the jacuzzi without the massage? Yes, the jacuzzi can be booked on its own. The printed menu lists it only inside the two packages, paired with the aroma hour, so the standalone price and length are not on the page: ask reception on WhatsApp and they will quote both for your date. The same goes for a different massage before the bath.
Can two people book it together? Send both names and the date in one message. Whether the jacuzzi part can be arranged around a couples booking depends on the day’s schedule, and reception will say what works.
What do I need to bring? Nothing for the massage: towels, sheets and a robe are provided. For the jacuzzi, ask reception when you book whether you should bring anything; they will tell you exactly what to expect for the water part.
Is there a sauna or a steam room? No. Ego is a massage spa; the two jacuzzi packages are the only water treatments on the menu, and there is no hammam or pool.
How far ahead should I book? The package needs a room and the jacuzzi free back to back, so a message a few hours ahead on weekdays and a day ahead for weekend evenings is sensible. Same-day requests are usually possible on weekday afternoons.
Where and when
Ego European Spa is inside Jannah Dubai Creek Hotel, formerly Edge Creekside Hotel, on 4th Street in Riggat Al Buteen next to Deira Clock Tower. It is about five minutes on foot from Union Metro, fifteen minutes by taxi from the airport, and the hotel car park is free for spa guests. The spa is open every day from 10:00 until 02:00, so a jacuzzi package that starts at 21:00 after dinner in Deira is a normal booking, not a special request.
Both packages are AED 490 for 80 minutes. The full description, the timeline and the questions above are on the jacuzzi massage page; the aroma hour on its own, in 45, 60 and 90-minute formats, is on the aroma massage page. To book, write to +971 58 273 9307 on WhatsApp in Russian, English or Arabic with the package name, the date and the time, and reception confirms within minutes during opening hours.
A note from the therapist
The most common thing I hear from guests after their first package is that they did not expect the bath to change how the massage felt. It does. The aroma hour leaves the muscles warm and the mind quiet; the twenty minutes in water is where that settles instead of being interrupted by getting dressed and walking out into the street. Salt or rose is a matter of taste, and both are good. What matters more is that you give yourself the full 80 minutes and do not look at the clock in the last twenty.
